The short 340-meter scenic trail is lined with Cryptomeria japonica and dense forests. There is a picnic area on the side of the trail for people to stop and rest. The small stream running through it allows you to stop and listen to the frogs. The fresh air provided by the forest allows you to take a deep breath. This is a trail suitable for individual tourists and parent-child activities. If you can't stay for a long time, it is recommended that you stroll along the scenic trail and enjoy the baptism from the forest. Trail length: 340 meters, one-way time: 10 minutes.

The entrance to the intellectual trail is located behind the restaurant. The slightly sloping route makes the legs sore for those who are not used to forest activities. However, the entire route is densely forested, with occasional streams flowing through. Many tools needed for logging and timber collection in the past (such as ropeways, wooden horse trails, etc.) are preserved on both sides of the trail. The display of forestry culture and machinery is the most attractive feature of the intellectual trail. Walking on the intellectual trail not only allows you to feel the phytoncides in the forest, but also allows you to review the historical stories of forest workers. Note: The exit of the intellectual trail is next to the geological corridor. You can return to the restaurant along the original trail, or return to the ticket office along the geological corridor. The self-guided trail is a very challenging trail in this area. The trail starts from the visitor center and you can walk up the slope to the Dongyan Mountain triangulation point (elevation 1,212 meters above sea level). On clear days, you can even see the Greater Taipei Basin. Walking along the self-guided trail along the mountain, you can observe the original forest of Dongyan Mountain. You can also observe various bird activities and animal and plant ecology beside the trail. It has a rich natural ecology. There are 20 interpretation stations along the way to explain the special attractions. It is worth walking in person if you have good physical strength. The trail exit is near the restaurant. You can follow the scenic trail back to the visitor center. This is a circular trail. The total length of the self-guided trail is 4,134 meters, and the time required for a circle is 150 minutes. The length of the branch line of the self-guided trail is 2,072; the time required for a circle is 70 minutes.

Dongman Trail is a national-level trail that starts at the end of the geological corridor and ends at the Manyueyuan National Forest Recreation Area. The first half of the trail is flat, and the middle section will climb a short distance. The second half is a downhill section until the Manyueyuan National Forest Recreation Area. The total length is about 7.5 kilometers, and the walking time is about 3-4 hours. The vegetation along the way is dense and the forest is towering. As the name suggests, this is a hiking trail that requires physical strength and time. Please be reminded that you need to be fully prepared to enter the Dongman Trail to ensure your personal safety during hiking. Trail length: 7,360 meters One-way time required: Dongyan Mountain → Manyueyuan, about 210 minutes; Manyueyuan → Dongyan Mountain, about 270 minutes

Fossil area: The fossils found in this area are trace fossils left by the activities of shrimps and crabs 30 million years ago. They were discovered when the Dongyanshan forest road was opened and then preserved in this area for teaching and research purposes. Parent-Child Peak: There are two peaks, one large and one small, standing above the end of the Dongyanshan Forest Trail. The terrain is very special and from a distance it looks like a loving mother with her child, overflowing with family affection and a very intimate feeling, hence the name "Parent-Child Peak". Afforestation Memorial Stone: Below the end of the Dongyanshan Forest Trail, there stands a natural boulder. It was left by the former Hsinchu Forest Management Office, Daxi Branch, in 1955 to commemorate the afforestation work at Dongyanshan.
