What is your picture toward “trail”? There are countless historical stories and cultural traces as well as natural sceneries in the vast forests of Taiwan. To provide premium recreational resources and bridge the gap between the citizens and the forests, the Forestry Bureau laid out the “National Trail System” with the existing trails. Do you want to get close to the mountains and yet do not know where to begin with? Are you wondering where to go during weekends and holidays? Let us check the National Trail System and find a mountain of your own!
The Principles of "Leave No Trace"
THE PRINCIPLES AND ACTION GUIDELINES
The “Leave No Trace” program is an educational and ethical program that began in the United States, and which aims to educate us how best to care for nature when we visit and remind us of our responsibility to protect it. A large focus is also placed on measures that minimize our impact on nature in order to protect the natural environment. These measures can be distilled down to seven key principles that should guide us in our outdoor activities, giving us the chance to enjoy the beauty of nature while reducing our impact on the environment, wildlife, flora, and other visitors.
- Plan Ahead and Prepare
- Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
- Dispose of Waste Properly
- Leave What You Find
- Minimize Use and Impact from Fires
- Respect Wildlife
- Be Considerate of Other Visitors
